Applying Internet-based Technologies to Teaching Corporate Finance and Investments

Author Biography

Zhuoming “Joe” Peng, Ph.D is Assistant Professor of Finance in the School of Business at the State University of New York at Oswego (SUNY Oswego).  He received his B.S. in electronics engineering from the South China University of Technology, an MBA in finance from Oklahoma City University, and a Ph.D. in business administration (majored in finance) from Texas Tech University.  Dr. Peng teaches undergraduate and graduate courses in corporate finance and investments.  The principle areas of his research interest include asset pricing, the predictability of stock returns, the impact of the Sarbanes-Oxley Act on corporate governance, and determinants of mutual fund performance.  His pedagogical research focuses on improving traditional face-to-face instruction with internet-based technologies and developing finance cases drawn from his own investment experiences.  He has had approximately ten publications and presentations, and one of his research papers has been published in the Journal of Investing.  Dr. Peng may be contacted at (315) 312-3561, or zpeng@oswego.edu.
