Author Biographies

Kathy Guthrie is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Educational Leadership and Policy Studies at Florida State University. In addition to teaching courses in Higher Education and Student Affairs, she is the coordinator of the Undergraduate Certificate in Leadership Studies. Her research interests and areas of expertise focus on development of leadership skills and responsible citizenship in undergraduate students. Her current research focus is the impact of leadership and civic education programs, distance education and reflective teaching and learning. Kathy may be reached at kguthrie@admin.fsu.edu.

Holly McCracken is the Director, Liberal Arts and Sciences Online Programs at University of Illinois at Springfield. Additionally she teaches part-time online for Capella University. Her research interests include online teaching and learning, transformative education and credit for prior learning.
