Abstract

This research investigated the effect of the use of mobile-assisted digital content on students’ English lesson achievement. This study employed a quasi-experimental design with a pretest and posttest given to both an experimental group and a control group. The study consisted of 29 9th Grade students at a public school in Turkey. The pretest was administered to the students of both groups at the beginning of the semester. The experimental group used a virtual classroom that included mobile apps while the control group did not. A posttest was then given at the end of the semester. The results of the research showed a significant difference between the pretest and posttest scores of both the experimental and control groups. We concluded from the research that applying mobile-assisted learning content contributed to students’ academic success in English lessons.
